Delta has shocked travelers after permanently canceling one of its popular transatlantic routes , beginning this January.

The airline has operated nonstop flights between New York-JFK and Brussels since 1991, but will discontinue one of its longest-standing routes after 34 years. Instead, Delta will launch a new direct route from Atlanta, beginning next spring.

A Delta spokesperson said:

Delta will transition its Brussels service to Atlanta beginning March 8, 2026, to better align with customer demand…The final New York-JFK to Brussels flight will operate Jan. 5 from JFK and Jan. 6 from BRU.
