HURRICANE -- Malik Baryun’s unassisted goal in the 58th minute on Tuesday gave Cabell Midland’s boys soccer team a rare win over Hurricane, 3-2 at Jim Dagostine Soccer Complex.

The victory by the Knights was their fourth in a row. It snapped an eight-game winning streak by Hurricane and gave Cabell Midland's seniors their first win at Hurricane.

“Winning at Hurricane is monumental,” Midland coach Jon Casto said. “These guys, I don’t think, have beaten Hurricane in the four years that they’ve been here, so a big win against one of the top teams in the state is a tone-setter for the season.”

Midland improved to 5-2-2. Hurricane dropped to 8-2, sustaining its first loss since a season-opening setback at home to Woodrow Wilson.
