The Cherryville City Council approved a resolution that allows restaurants to sell alcohol before noon on Sunday mornings.

The "Brunch Bill" was suggested by Five Spur Steakhouse, City Manager Brian Dalton told the council in a recent meeting.

"This is a bill that's really everywhere in Gaston County, Cleveland Couny, Rutherford County, that I've researched. It gives the local board the authority to adopt a brunch bill to allow them to sell alcohol starting at 10 o'clock on Sunday mornings," Dalton said.

Council Member Gary Freeman said in the meeting that he was for allowing people to choose.
