GRANTSVILLE, W.Va. — There are now two members of the three-member Calhoun County Commission that face criminal charges.
Commission President Craig Arthur faces seven counts of failing to pay taxes or file returns or reports, according to a criminal investigator with the West Virginia Tax Division on Aug, 21.
Court documents, first obtained by WCHS-TV, show the misdemeanor charges related to a business partnership in a local monument company.
Arthur, 39, of Creston, becomes the second member of the commission named in criminal charges. Commissioner Jacob McCumbers was arrested last Saturday and charged with 50 counts of sexual abuse of a child. He’s currently on home confinement awaiting a preliminary hearing.
