Tulsa actor Tim Blake Nelson, who stars as a retired boxer in the film “Bang Bang,” doesn’t have a history of throwing punches.

“I think I have gotten into two fights in my life and was bested pretty quickly in both because I’m just a scrawny, peace-loving guy,” Nelson said in a recent interview.

“It took some work to turn all that around and find this character. And this script is so good, I really felt like I owed that to the material.”

The character is Bernard “Bang Bang” Rozyski, a boxer known for his wild and abrasive personality in and out of the ring.
