TOWN OF HOPKINTON, N.Y. (WWTI) - A 17-year-old girl from Brasher Falls is facing vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated charges after allegedly crashing into a tree on Sunday morning.

Around 3:10 a.m. Sunday, state troopers responded to a vehicle collision into a tree on Lake Ozonia Road in the town of Hopkinton. Their investigation allegedly found that the 17-year-old driver was operating a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 when she lost control of the truck around a curve.

The driver's name was not released due to her age being under 18.

The vehicle was traveling northbound when it exited the roadway and struck a tree. She was with two passengers: a 16-year-old boy from St. Regis Falls, and a 17-year-old girl from Nicholville.
