Best-selling author and entomologist Doug Tallamy was the keynote speaker at the 30th annual Trees Virginia workshop in Waynesboro on Friday.
Trees Virginia, also known as Virginia’s Urban Forest Council, was established in 1990 to educate the public on the importance of trees in our communities.
Tallamy, author of “The Nature of Oaks,” “Nature’s Best Hope,” and most recently, “How Can I Help,” speaks all over the country about how homeowners can create mini national parks in our backyards to help preserve the natural world we need for our own survival.
