KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - A KCK family is reeling after shots were fired at their home Saturday evening during a family cookout.

Young children, ages 1, 3, 5 and 9 were playing outside while their dad grilled and mom supervised. But they’re all now witnesses to gunshots outside their home.

KCKPD says officers are investigating an incident from Saturday night, just before 9:00 p.m., when a black sedan drove past the family’s home on 86th Street four different times before stopping, shouting something and firing the shots.

Officers located shell casings but no bullet holes. Luckily, no one was hit. It happened at Nancy’s home, she sat down with KCTV5, but did not want to give her last name or show her face for safety reasons.
