OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - Plans are pushed back again for a county sales tax in Winnebago County.

The County Board of Supervisors failed to pass a resolution that would approve an ordinance to be written.

A motion was made but did not receive a second, meaning the board couldn’t vote on it.

The idea is to add a 0.5% sales tax within the county.

A number of people showed up to the meeting, in-person and online, to share their thoughts.

“When you look at the percentages of familes that live at or below the poverty level, this is where that half percent sales tax will be felt,” one said.
