A Clifton Heights man has pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated arson for twice trying to burn down a duplex in Prospect Park with Molotov cocktails in 2023.
Mark Flegler, 48, also pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm prohibited in a separate docket. He entered open guilty pleas to both charges before Common Pleas Court Judge Richard Cappelli.
Additional charges, including risking a catastrophe and reckless endangerment, will be dismissed at sentencing under the plea worked out by Assistant District Attorney Nick McGuire and defense counsel Christina Ashworth.
According to testimony at the preliminary hearing in February 2024:
Flegler was charged with 23 counts for two arson attempts at a twin home on the 700 block of 16th Avenue in November and December 2023.
