Two Lubbock County Sheriff's deputies and a family injured in wreck at a south Lubbock overpass are suing the driver of an 18-wheeler and his employer after authorities said he was driving while distracted.

The plaintiffs, which include a minor, are seeking at least $1 million in damages from Roth Products of Texas, LLC, according to a lawsuit filed in the 99th District Court.

The lawsuit was originally filed Sept. 8 but was amended Tuesday to include the two deputies, according to court records.

The lawsuit stems from a Sept. 8 crash on the overpass at the intersection of I-27 and 98th Street.
