JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — Judge Roger Duvall ordered former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel to repay $918,416 in one of his two civil cases with the Attorney General's office (AG) on Tuesday. The AG's office is also seeking compensatory "treble damages", which could bring the total amount in this one case to $2.5 million.

Noel is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence at the New Castle Correctional Complex after pleading guilty to 27 felonies in August 2024 . The felonies included theft, tax evasion, official misconduct and money laundering. Noel is also ordered to repay $3.1 million in restitution in his criminal case.

Tuesday's hearing was related to Noel's misspending of the Clark County jail commissary from 2015 to 2022, also including his payments to former Scott County Sheriff
