COVERT, MI – The Trump administration has released more federal loan dollars approved under the Biden administration to help reopen the Palisades nuclear power plant in Michigan.
On Tuesday, Sept. 16, the U.S. Department of Energy said it disbursed $156 million of the $1.52 billion loan guarantee to plant owner Holtec International to make the facility the first American nuclear power plant to restart after beginning decommissioning. That pushes the amount of federal loan dollars released for the effort to $491 million so far.
