Another former Patriots captain is heading to Pittsburgh.
The Steelers signed Ja’Whaun Bentley to their practice squad on Tuesday night, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported . It’s unclear if Bentley will be elevated for their Week 3 matchup against New England.
Bentley joins Jabrill Peppers, who signed with the Steelers earlier this month .
The Patriots released Bentley in March . He was the fourth veteran New England moved on from in the offseason under Mike Vrabel’s new leadership. David Andrews, Deatrich Wise, and Jonathan Jones were the others. Jones and Wise signed with the Washington Commanders, though Wise suffered a season-ending quad injury last week.
Andrews, meanwhile, retired in June.
