TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - A 12-year-old boy in Taylor County was left critically injured after being hit by a vehicle early Tuesday morning, according to the Perry Police Department.
The accident occurred just after 7:15 a.m. Tuesday in a school zone area near Johnson Strickland Road, which Google Maps identifies as North Peacock Drive, and East Veterans Drive, police told WCTV Wednesday morning.
Just moments before the incident transpired, officers said a vehicle was traveling west on East Veterans Drive and the boy, who was on a bike at the time, was traveling on a nearby sidewalk heading southbound.

Shortly afterward, the 12-year-old violated the vehicle’s right of way in the intersection and rode in front of the vehicle, causing the young boy to fli
