Officials postponed the Barrington High School Open House scheduled for Thursday night, Sept. 18, “Due to the recent events associated with a social media posting by a high school teacher .”

Barrington Schools Acting Superintendent Chris Ashley emailed high school families on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 16, notifying them of the decision to push pause on the Open House. He wrote that the district is still planning on hosting an open house, but will have it at date in the near future.

“We want Open House to be focused on welcoming families to the high school, having an opportunity to make introductions to meet teachers, and learning about your child's classes and we want to make sure that all our families and teachers are able to focus on those goals without distractions,” he wrote.
