CHARLESTON — The slaying of a Goose Creek man in early 2020 has recently reappeared in headlines with allegations that a prison inmate orchestrated the homicide from behind bars with key players tied in a massive federal drug bust.
And now, more than five years after the early morning fatal shooting, the alleged hitman sat at a table shoulder-to-shoulder with two defense attorneys in a Charleston County courtroom to stand trial.
On Sept. 16, 41-year-old Quinton Anthony Taylor , clothed in a light blue button-up shirt, faced a jury on the second day of his criminal trial. Taylor was arrested on May 8, 2020, on a charge of murder.
The jury heard from a woman who testified about the day she saw her friend, 27-year-old De’Andre Rivers, shot to death. He was pronounced dead on May 6, 202
