Police have arrested a Vernon man in connection with a fatal shooting in Hartford last week.

Xavier Soto, 34, faces charges of murder, criminal use of a firearm, risk of injury to a child and first-degree reckless endangerment, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department .

He turned himself in at the police department on Tuesday evening and was held in lieu of a $2 million bond pending an arraignment hearing in Hartford Superior Court, Boisvert said.

According to Boisvert, Soto was identified as a suspect in a shooting that occurred last Friday shortly after 6:50 p.m. when officers responded to the area of 387 Broadview Terrace on a report of a person being shot.
