A new pedestrian bridge over railway tracks, from Drury Lane to Orpha Street, is scheduled to open for public use on Sept. 26, after almost seven months of construction.

Metrolinx removed the 53-year old Drury Lane pedestrian bridge and began work to replace it in March.

In a recent notice on its website , Metrolinx announced the new bridge will be open and “completely safe to use” on Sept. 26, but pedestrians and cyclists may see some construction continuing over the next four to five months to complete remaining work.

“These works are planned to be as least intrusive as possible, and we will keep noise to a minimum,” the notice states.

Scheduled working hours are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, but work may take place during the day, night and on weekends to complete the project
