A suspect fleeing police -- who officials say was wanted in relation to several carjackings -- crashed into a vehicle being driven by a school principal who was on the way to work in Philly's Tacony neighborhood on Wednesday morning, investigators said.

According to police, the incident happened at about 9 a.m. near the intersection of Tulip and Princeton streets in Philly's Tacony neighborhood.

Shortly before the incident occurred, officials said, officers were attempting to stop a vehicle driven by an individual that was sought in "several carjackings," a police official told NBC10's Alex DiPrato.
