A 66-year-old with a long history of crime and prison time faces new charges after resisting arrest.

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 66-year-old Polk City man with a lengthy criminal history, including ten stints in state prison, was taken into custody early Wednesday morning after deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) acted on a tip.

Dallas Russell Long, a registered career offender, had been sought on three active warrants, deputies say.

According to a PCSO report, deputies received information that Long was located on 1st Street in Polk City . Upon arrival, they found him sitting in a carport. When approached, Long reportedly lied to deputies about his identity in an attempt to evade capture. The deputies, however, were not fooled.
