St. Thomas police are on the hunt for two Toronto-area men who face charges for distraction thefts of lottery tickets in the area.

Robert Dobre, 53, of the Greater Toronto Area faces two counts of theft under $5,000 and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order, police said Wednesday.

St. Thomas police said they and Aylmer police have been investigating several “distraction thefts” in the area in which a man enters a business and steals a large number of lottery tickets while an employee is not in the store or is distracted.

Police did not provide any details of the area thefts, including the value of the lottery tickets that were stolen and where the thefts occurred.

Dobre is wanted by eight other police services in Ontario and Quebec for similar thefts, police said.
