BARABOO, Wis. — The Sauk County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday released the name of the 24-year-old man who died Saturday evening after he crashed while attempting to exit Devil's Lake State Park.

Jamison M. Ruston, of Madison, was driving a 2020 Ford Mustang on the state park's exit road just south of Cty Hwy DL in the Town of Baraboo. Ruston, on the northbound one-way exit road, drove at a high rate of speed when he did not make a right-hand curve in time, according to investigators.

Multiple reports of a single-vehicle crash were sent to the Sauk County Communications Center roughly at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Mustang departed the road to the left and struck several large trees before coming to rest against a tree. The impact killed Ruston at the scene.
