MISSOULA — Micah Harper knew the Montana football team had a game opponent in North Dakota this past weekend.
The senior safety had seen how the Fighting Hawks nearly pulled off one of the rarest upsets in college football when they battled a ranked FBS team down to the wire. That opponent was Kansas State, which plays in the Big 12, the same conference in which Harper competed for the previous five seasons.
Harper, a BYU transfer, and his new team, the fifth-ranked Grizzlies, got that tough test they expected from No. 16 North Dakota this past weekend and they showed their across-the-board resilience late to rally for a 24-23 victory .
