BASTROP, La. (KNOE) - Bastrop High School was on a lockdown the morning of Sept. 17 after what has now been deemed a false report of a gun on campus.
Morehouse Parish Superintendent Jessie Winston, Jr., said Bastrop High School received information about a gun on campus. Winston added that after a “thorough investigation,” the report was deemed false.
Bastrop High School’s lockdown was lifted, and classes have returned to normal.
This incident happened on the same day that Block High School was put on lockdown in Catahoula Parish.
Block was put on a soft lockdown after a threat was found written on a bathroom stall.
Law enforcement investigated the situation and deemed the campus safe.
Students returned to class as normal at around 10:30 a.m.
