“I was living in Richmond Hill then, so it would be before 1979. My friend and I thought it would be fun,” she recalled.
Her friend stopped after the second time. But if you substitute “important” for “fun,” you soon marvel at Larocque’s milestone: 400 times.
She says it is just a number. Going to the Canadian Blood Services just became a regular part of her life.
The Sudbury site for plasma donation at 900 Lasalle Blvd., in New Sudbury, is so easy for her to get to. “It’s about eight steps from my front door.”
