NILES A Niles man who pled guilty in June to a robbery at a gas station has learned his fate on Wednesday.
According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 23-year-old Lance Holbrook was sentenced to the Northeast Ohio Community Alternative Program (NEOCAP), as well as three years of probation on a charge of robbery, a third-degree felony.
NEOCAP is a facility that offers non-violent offenders the option of structured treatment and education in lieu of prison time.
Holbrook's charge stems from an incident at a Speedway gas station in Niles in March of 2025 where Holbrook handed the cashier a note saying that he had a gun and a bomb on him. The cashier handed Holbrook $117 and hit the store's silent alarm.
Police said Holbrook confessed to his crime during questioning.
