LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — After Loudoun County Public Schools said two boys violated Title IX by discriminating against a transgender classmate, the U.S. Department of Education now says the school district is actually the party that violated the law.
In March, students were videotaped by a transgender boy inside a Stone Brook High School boys' locker room, saying they didn't understand why a "girl" was in there. In August, an LCPS investigation concluded two boys making comments violated Title IX and decided to suspend them for 10 days. But the boys' parents appealed the suspension and said that their children's rights were violated by being recorded.
