HOUSTON – The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is inviting families to take flight at its fourth annual “Bat Fest!”
The free-to-attend, family-friendly event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and shines a spotlight on the often-misunderstood creatures that play a vital role in our ecosystem.

In other words, the celebration is meant to honor bats as “superheroes” of the natural world. The Arboretum notes, for example, that not only do bats help control pests like mosquitoes, but they also pollinate plants and disperse seeds.
Visitors can stop by educational booths to learn more about Houston’s local bat species and the conservation efforts underway to protect them.
Little ones can enjoy bat-themed activities, crafts, and story ti
