RUIDOSO, N.M. (KRQE) — A flood watch has been issued for the South Central Mountains, including the Ruidoso area burn scars, on late Wednesday morning through early Thursday evening, according to the NWS. Local residents are asked to keep an eye on the latest forecast and be prepared to take action if a warning is issued.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall could result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying or flood-prone locations under the flood watch. Rainfall amounts could total up to about one inch in the Ruidoso burn scar areas.
