Ottawa police have charged two young drivers with stunt driving after they were caught speeding on Tuesday. Both drivers were operating vehicles while holding learner's permits, which require them to be accompanied by a fully licensed driver.

The Traffic Escort Unit first stopped a 22-year-old driver on Limebank Road. He was clocked going 56 km/h over the posted speed limit of 80 km/h. As a result, he was charged with stunt driving. His G1 license was suspended, and the vehicle, which belonged to his parents, was impounded.

Later that morning, during rush hour, a 19-year-old G1 driver was also pulled over. This driver was found traveling at 107 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on River Road. Like the first driver, he was charged with stunt driving, his license was suspended, and his vehicle was impounded.

Both drivers are scheduled to appear in court to face the charges. The incidents highlight the importance of adhering to speed limits and the regulations governing learner drivers.
