PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Portland has a reputation for its coffee culture. But is the Rose City home to the best coffee in the United States?

Ahead of National Coffee Day on September 29, WalletHub released a study of 2025’s best coffee cities in America.

To find the best local coffee scenes, the personal finance company compared 100 of the largest cities across 12 factors that indicate a “strong coffee culture.” The data ranges from coffee shops, coffee houses and cafés per capita, along with the average price per pack of coffee.

Overall, Portland, Oregon, is the best coffee city, according to WalletHub.

Portland also ranks first for coffee and tea manufacturers per capita and first for affordable coffee shops per capita, according to the study.
