David Byrne kicked off a massive world tour in support of his new album, Who Is the Sky? , at Pittsburgh’s Benedum Center PAC on Tuesday, September 16th. During his 21-song set, Byrne debuted several new solo songs while also performing a selection of Talking Heads favorites, including his first rendition of the classic “Psycho Killer” in nearly two decades.
In addition to playing the Who Is the Sky? singles “What Is the Reason for It?” and “Everybody Laughs,” Byrne debuted album tracks such as “My Apartment Is My Friend” and “Don’t Be Like That.” He also performed his 2008 Brian Eno collab, “Strange Overtones,” American Utopia cut “Everybody’s Coming to My House,” and debuted his cover of Paramore’s “Hard Times.”
