Filmmaker Cameron Crowe got his start interviewing touring musicians for Rolling Stone, and now he’s finally going on tour himself. Crowe will be taking on the role of headliner in seven cities for appearances behind his new memoir, “The Uncool,” joined by guests who will participate in conversation with the journalist-turned-director.

The first show will be on Oct. 29, the day after the book hits stores. On that date, at Washington, D.C.’s Warner Theatre, Jake Tapper will be Crowe’s guest for the evening. The following night, on Oct. 30 in Nashville at the CMA Theatre, it will be an evening of counting crows — so to speak — as Crowe is joined by local hero Sheryl Crow .
