GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WATE) — A portion of Cherokee Orchard Road in Gatlinburg will close next week for emergency repairs.
A full closure for all traffic will begin on Monday, September 22, between Baskins Creek Road and East Holly Ridge Road while crews conduct emergency slope repairs. The project is expected to last approximately two weeks.
Drivers are encouraged to plan for alternate routes during the repairs.
“We apologize for the inconvenience this closure may cause, however, these emergency repairs are necessary to ensure the long-term safety and stability of this roadway and surrounding slope,” City Manager Greg Patterson said. “We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we work diligently to complete the repairs as quickly and safely as possible.”
