Disability activist Patrice Jetter did not go to Los Angeles expecting to win an Emmy last week.

“We went in thinking we weren’t going to win. We were up against Celine Dion,” said the Hamilton resident and star of a documentary now airing on Hulu.

Then they announced the winner of the Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking: “ Patrice: The Movie .”

“When they called my name, I totally lost my cookies,” Jetter said, laughing.
