First responders were called to Lowe’s in Clinton on Wednesday afternoon after a forklift battery suddenly caught fire.

Around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Clinton authorities were called to Lowe’s Home Improvement on 911 Sunset Ave. after a store employee called 911 to report a fire. According to Clinton police, the worker, who was unidentified, was using the forklift when the machine suddenly caught fire outside of the building. Luckily, the fire did not spread to the building or any surrounding areas and no injuries or damages to the store itself have been reported at this time. The worker, though visibly shaken, also appeared to have no injuries.
