NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A new analysis by nonpartisan think tank Think Tennessee showed that 64.0% of registered voters showed up to the polls during the November presidential election.

That's lower than the record 69.3% turnout in 2020, but higher than both the 2016 and 2012 elections. However, Tennessee continues to lag behind other states when it comes to voter turnout; part of the reason why might be due to the state's policies.

“There are a couple of different places where Tennessee is an outlier, where we do things a little bit differently than most other states," Dawn Schluckebier with Think Tennessee said.
