ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

Police SWAT were activated after a suspect fled from police in northeast Albuquerque.

Police said a man fled from officers around the 12800 block of Copper Avenue NE. That response was after 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, according to the Albuquerque Police Department.

Officers in the foothills area worked for several hours to learn if the suspect was inside a residence on Copper Avenue. The search led to the suspect not being found inside the home.

The search update by APD was provided on Wednesday night.

APD SWAT are now responding to take over the response.
