Dalton Public Schools is not only celebrating Hispanic Heritage and history, but they're also making it.

Veronica Rodriguez is the district's first Hispanic principal. Principal Rodriguez started her educational career as a pre-k teacher. Over the years, she worked up the ladder and earned the leadership role at Blue Ridge Elementary School.

“The difficulty of that, being able to be a Hispanic principal, it’s knowing how to get there," Rodriguez said. "I think us Hispanics we don’t really know how to get there sometimes.
