On Tuesday, Republican Senator Lindsey Tichenor of Louisville, who sits on the Interim Joint Committee on Education, asked Dr. Demetrus Liggins about his travel expenses.

“The average airfare, about $1,000 to travel within the United States,” she said. “That tells me that’s probably first class. $7,000 for a trip to Australia, that’s probably first class.”
