‘Tell me where my daughter is. That’s your forgiveness.’ Sherry Ballad speaks at Brooks Houck sentencing

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WAVE) - Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson were sentenced for their role in the murder of Crystal Rogers.

Sherry Ballard, the mother of Crystal, told Brooks Houck that all she felt for him was “contempt” during the sentencing.

July 3, 2015, was the last day the 35-year-old mother of five was seen alive by her then boyfriend, Brooks Houck.

Two days later, she was reported missing by her parents. That same day, July 5, Rogers’ car was found along the Bluegrass Parkway with her things still inside.

In July, Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson were found guilty in the 2015 disappearance and presumed murder of Rogers. Their sentencing was supposed to be in late August, but was delayed due to ongoing health issues with Lawson.
