LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas State Police have arrested a man who was wanted in North Carolina in a child sex offense case.

ASP stated that authorities arrested 40-year-old Joe Lawson on Friday on warrants issued by authorities in Asheville, North Carolina, for Statutory Sex Offense with a Child Under 15 and Indecent Liberties with a Child.

According to a news release from ASP, North Carolina investigators asked Arkansas authorities to assist in their ongoing investigation and apprehension of Lawson and his electronic devices.

Lawson was taken to the Faulkner County Detention Center, awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
