PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) – A grand jury in Floyd County decided not to indict a woman who had been accused of shooting her father to death in early June.
“The grand jury thoroughly reviewed the case and issued a decision not to indict,” the Floyd County Prosecutor’s Office said on Wednesday about the case involving Summer Adkins, who’s in her early 20s.
Adkins had been accused of murder in the shooting death of her father, Jimmy D. Harvey, 62. The incident happened June 10, 2025, at their home in the 2300 block of state Route 321.
