BELLMEAD, Texas (KWTX) - A Bellmead man previously charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl on multiple occasions in 2018 was placed on deferred probation Wednesday after his conviction on lesser charges.

Brian Gonzalez, 28, who had been indicted on three counts of second-degree felony sexual assault of a child, pleaded guilty to three counts of third-degree felony injury to a child in a plea bargain with the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office.

Gonzalez, who works for a fencing company, pleaded guilty in May, and 54th State District Judge Susan Kelly ordered a background investigation by probation officers to determine if she would accept the plea agreement.
