[WATERLOO, Iowa] — International Paper has begun work on its new plant near the airport, marking a significant development for the area.

The first pre-cast panel is now in place at the 850,000-square-foot box manufacturing plant on Leversee Road. Waterloo officials report that this will be the largest box plant in the United States, bringing 72 new jobs to the community.

Once completed, International Paper plans to employ approximately 220 people in Waterloo.
