WYOMING, MI – Police have identified the man who was shot and killed by officers during a domestic disturbance on Sept. 16.
Two Wyoming police encountered 31-year-old Luis Hernan Fernandez Sandoval when they responded to the residents in the 200 block of Lemyra SE.
He was allegedly in violation of a protective order, which prompted the call, according to a news release from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
The two police officers fired their weapons and hit Sandoval, who died at the scene. No other injuries were sustained.
The shooting is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division, according to the release.
Detectives will conduct interviews, gather information and evidence and present the findings to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
