BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - After a U-High football player woke up unable to walk from pain in his calf, doctors at Ochsner quickly jumped into action, getting him care before it was too late.

Baylen Hankton has been playing football since he was in 6th grade.

“I like that I can like I can feel free, kind of like I could do whatever I like want,” Hankton said.

Hankton is now a freshman playing for U-High’s football team as a wide receiver. The team is prepping to take on Catholic High this week.

Hankton is on the field this week, going through drills with the rest of the team—something he is incredibly grateful for.

“I like want to thank God because I know if it wasn’t for him, then like I wouldn’t be able to be back on the field,” Hankton said.
