Toronto Blue Jays rookie Trey Yesavage looked calm and composed in his MLB debut earlier this week, but his teammates wanted to test that further.
The 22-year-old Yesavage was lights out in his first-ever MLB start against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night. He struck out a franchise record nine batters in his debut and gave up just one earned run in five innings en route to a Blue Jays victory.
It was as impressive a start to a major league career as you could get. Yet, that doesn’t mean that he is any different from the other players in the Toronto dugout. Though he has been around for just two games as a Blue Jay, Yesavage seems to be getting along just fine with his new teammates.
