SEATTLE — Seattle Children’s Hospital will lay off more than 150 workers this fall, blaming the cuts on the loss of federal funding.

The hospital confirmed Wednesday that 154 employees will be laid off and 350 open positions will be eliminated, effective Nov. 15.

“Like health care institutions across the country, Seattle Children’s is facing significant financial impacts due to hundreds of millions of dollars in anticipated state and federal funding cuts,” the hospital said in a written statement.
